Become an Engineer

Do meaningful technical work on your schedule, keep the majority of every ticket you resolve, and skip the sales grind. AskTechGurus brings you the tickets — you bring the expertise.

Why engineers join

You are a skilled systems, network, cloud, or security engineer. On AskTechGurus you claim tickets that match your expertise, solve real problems over secure remote sessions, and keep a clear, published share of every ticket — without cold outreach, scoping calls, or chasing invoices. Work as much or as little as you want.

What you earn — the pay scale

Every ticket is a fixed price that starts at $99 and rises with the scope of the work. Your share is published up front and set by the ticket's tier: you keep the largest share on quick, standard support, and a smaller share on higher-priced, more complex work — where the platform carries more of the coordination and risk. You always know your exact payout before you claim.

Basic$9970%$69.30
Standard$19965%$129.35
Advanced$34960%$209.40
Priority$49955%$274.45

How and when you get paid

Payouts run through QuickBooks. After a client confirms a ticket is resolved and is invoiced, your share is recorded and paid out to your bank on a regular schedule. There are no fees to join and nothing to buy.

What we look for

To join the network, you should have:

The onboarding process — required before you take tickets

Every engineer completes onboarding before claiming a single ticket. It protects clients, protects the platform, and protects your reputation as part of a vetted network. Here is exactly what it looks like:

1
Apply
Create an engineer account and tell us your certifications, specialties, and experience.
2
Identity verification
Confirm your identity so clients know a real, named professional is on their systems.
3
Credential check
We verify your certifications directly with the issuing bodies — no paper-only claims.
4
Background screen
A standard professional background check, because you will be trusted with client systems.
5
Skills assessment
A short, practical technical screen in your specialty so we know the work will be right.
6
Payout setup
Add your payout details so your earnings can be paid out to your bank.
7
Probation
Your first 10 tickets are reviewed a little more closely while we confirm clients love your work — your published tier payouts apply from day one.
8
Active
You're in — claim any ticket that matches your specialties and keep your published share on every one.
