This Acceptable Use Policy sets the ground rules for everyone on the AskTechGurus Platform — Clients and Engineers alike. It exists to keep the Platform safe, lawful, and trustworthy. Violating it may lead to removal from the Platform.
1. Prohibited Client uses
As a Client, you agree that you will not use the Platform to:
Engage in or facilitate any illegal activity, or ask an Engineer to perform any unlawful act.
Request access to systems or data you are not authorized to access, or misrepresent your authority to authorize work.
Circumvent the Platform to solicit or pay an Engineer off-platform in order to avoid fees ("platform circumvention").
Harass, threaten, or abuse Engineers or staff, or discriminate against anyone.
Upload malware, or use the Platform to attack, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to any system.
Infringe anyone's intellectual-property or privacy rights.
2. Engineer obligations
As an Engineer, you agree that you will:
Work only within the scope of the ticket, and not access systems, files, or data beyond what the ticket requires.
Keep confidential everything you see or access while working, during and after the engagement.
Never install malware, create backdoors, or gain unauthorized access to any system.
Never exfiltrate, copy, or retain a Client's data beyond what is necessary to resolve the ticket, and securely dispose of anything temporary when done.
Comply with all applicable laws, professional standards, and these policies, and decline any request that violates them.
3. Enforcement and consequences
We investigate suspected violations and may take any action we consider appropriate, including warning, suspending, or permanently removing an account; withholding or reversing payouts related to a violation; reversing charges or issuing refunds; preserving and disclosing information where required by law; and reporting unlawful activity to the authorities. We may act immediately, without prior notice, where a violation creates risk to users or the Platform.
